Here's the Hellenback email update for September! Betcha couldn't wait, could you! Probably not, considering we were lazy and didn't put one out in August...it was hot outside, give us a break, Ok?

After a self-induced slowdown in August and September, we are back at it hard and heavy in October. Our next show will be on Saturday, Oct 3rd at our newest venue, Hard Times Cafe in Manassas, VA. We are getting ourselves worked up for this one since we hardly ever get to perform in the Manassas area...right where alot of our fans are from. For some reason, Manassas hasn't had a decent live music scene in years...not one with the facilities to handle a show like ours. Well, not anymore. With the opening of the Hard Times Cafe, those days are over. We are expecting all of you who have asked "When are you coming to Manassas?" to get your "assas" to the show on Oct 3rd. Check the calendar on the website for all of the details.

Next, we want to tell you about a cool little thing that Hellenback lead guitarist / vocalist, Richard Kendrick, has going on. Richard, a longtime professional musician with many years of touring, recording, and producing on his resume, will be playing a few shows with Lillian Axe on the current Alice Cooper tour. He will be all over the south during the early part of October, ripping up his guitar up on the big stage in front of many, many thousands of screaming fans. That's some real cool stuff right there!! The rest of us in our little band are in awe of Richard when he gets to play with the "big boys"...and we are honored that he chooses to rock with us when he is back home. Here's our July update! Betcha been waiting, haven't you!

Right off the bat we need to announce that the July 10th Village Grill show has been CANCELED! They have decided to not host bands anymore, so I don't think that it would be a great idea for us to show up there this Friday!

Our next show will be on Saturday, July 18th at one of our most-favoritest clubs, The Bungalow, in Chantilly, VA. If you've never been to one of our shows at The Bungalow, you don't know what you've been missing. Let's just say that the word "Party" doesn't do it justice ;-) Mark it on your calendar so you won't miss out this time.

Next, we want to thank everyone who came out on June 26th for the 96.9 FM Morning Mafia Rock Party at Brock's Riverside Grill in Old Town Fredericksburg. We had a great show, and really enjoyed working with Brady and the rest of the Morning Mafia crew. We may be returning to Brock's on Sept 4th to celebrate the owner's birthday with another huge show, so stay tuned for that!

Hey everybody! It's been a month or two since our last update...but no worries, here is our latest one!

First and foremost, to those who attended "LyleFest 2009", we hope you had a great time...we sure did. We would especially like to thank TROUBLEMAKER (www.myspace.com/troublemakerjams) for coming out and jamming with us and putting on a great show...you guys RAWK!

Next, we have a pretty busy summer ahead with alot of great shows. First off, we will be back at Sweet Caroline's in Winchester this Friday, June 19th, and then on Saturday, June 20th, we'll be rolling into Sterling, VA for another great show at Velocity 5. If you can get out this weekend for a little partying, we would love to see everyone!

Next Friday, June 26th, we've got a really special show in Fredericksburg, VA. We'll be Rockin' the Mafia at the 96.9 FM Morning Mafia Rock Party at Brock's Riverside Grill in Old Town Fredericksburg. This is gonna be a great show where you can win tickets to see Def Leppard @ Nissan Pavillion and other great stuff from 96.9 FM! We will be playing a "private" set @ 8:00 pm for special Morning Mafia ticket winners, then Brock's will open the party up to everyone @ 9:30. So, even if you don't have tickets, come on out at 9:30 and party with us and the 96.9 Morning Mafia! Hey everyone!

First and foremost, as most of you know, we've had a lineup change within Hellenback. Mike Nelson, our lead guitarist for the last 10 months, decided to become super-successful with his "day job" and went and got promoted. Unfortunately for us, this takes him out of the DC area quite regularly so he's no longer able to keep up with a full band schedule. We are bummed that Mike is leaving, but we're hoping that he will drop by every once in awhile to jam with us, so we'll keep everyone in the loop in the event we can make it happen.

Now, after a couple months of searching for and auditioning potential rock stars, we've hit the jackpot! We want to officially welcome Richard Kendrick to our little gang.



Richard has worked full time as a touring musican and recording engineer/producer for many years, so he's a "been there, done everything" dude. Besides being a phenomenal guitarist and singer, he's also super-cool and very knowledgeable about anything and everything Rock and Roll. We've got a couple shows scheduled for this month starting with this Friday, March 13th at The Greene Turtle in Germantown, MD. Next, we are back at The Bungalow in Chantilly to host their St. Patrick's Day Party on Tuesday, March 17th. Finally, we roll into Mainstreet Grill and Bar in Stafford, VA on Friday March 27th. We hope everyone will come out and welcome Richard to the fold, and show a little love to the band!
